The holiday season tended to make Dana stir crazy. Everything slowed or stopped altogether. People fell off the face of the earth by way of traveling or spending time with family. So she found herself in the most colorful section of the public library instead, box cutter in hand as she opened box after box of donated books. There had been a children’s book drive earlier that month and she’d volunteered to help sort through the stacks. Kids were far from her favorite things in the world but the noise here would be a welcome distraction from her empty apartment or that hollow feeling she got being around her dads for an extended period of time.
Dana got to her feet when she noticed a familiar (and more importantly, adult) face, setting aside another empty box. “Micah,” she said, pleased with herself at remembering. She’d forgotten his name the last time they’d both been here, but it was sticking now. “Storytime today? Or have they wrangled you into doing some actual hard work?”

Meg: Hey, I haven't heard from you since I got back. I was trying to give you space after what happened, but now I'm really starting to worry. Is everything alright?
