SVU 15x5: October Surprise - Elevator Convo Transcription
(translation in red - note much of what they are saying is slang and there is a shared cultural undercurrent running between these two Latino men of Cuban descent)
ADA Barba: I am not cutting Munoz a break just because he's my friend.
Nick Amaro: No, I get that. It's not about friendship. It's about you. You're afraid to go after Munoz because while he stayed in the hood, in el barrio [the neighborhood/ghetto] and played man of the people, you went off to Harvard and pretended you were one of the gringuitos [“little” (diminutive) gringo/white foreigner].
ADA Rafael Barba: I know where I come from.
Nick Amaro: Yeah, so does Munoz and he's playing you, mi socio [my associate/pal], and making you feel like a sellout. Un arrepentido [a repentant man... someone who feels guilty, maybe guilty enough to start defending what he shouldn’t].
ADA Rafael Barba: Thank you so much for the bodega psychoanalysis, detective. Compay [buddy]? No te equivoque conmigo [make no mistake (I am not to be messed with)].

ok idk why i wanted to hurt myself and rewatched this conversation
Credit to @tylerthefictionwriter whose manip this is based on!
needdd mean rafael bullying nick onto his knees the second he walks through their front door because he’s been bratty and short tempered at work and he should know the rules “what have i told you cariño…what must your colleagues think of you, hm?”
it only takes a little interrogation for tears to spill from his eyes and a slue of apologies from his mouth, some pathetic mumbling about how he’d just woke up in one of them moods he couldn’t shake. he knows if he just told him he could’ve helped, olivia could’ve helped. “‘m sorry Rafa I- I didn’t mean it…”
Rafael can’t punish him like this. he should, but with that sweet, glazed look in his eye he really really can’t. he feeds him something small, some cookies and a hot chocolate, runs a steamy bath with his favourite bubble bath and washes his hair for him, then he dresses him in his softest pyjamas and tells him to wait in bed for him, departing with a kiss to his forehead. Nick reads while he’s gone.
Rafael returns an hour later; this is the routine, to let them both have breathing room. he finds Nick half asleep struggling to hold the pages of his book open. “i know you’re tired bebé, but you still need something don’t you?” Nick’s in his lap before he can think about it (not that he’s in any position to anyway) wet clumsy kisses trailing his boyfriend’s neck because he’s sure that’s what he’s supposed to do now, Rafael’s hand working him over in his pants in just the way he knows will get him there quick.
just needed to get his head a little fuzzy and his blood warm.
