It's too cold at my desktop to do the updates I wanted, so let's look at this project instead. It still kinda feels like I shouldn't actually be touching the paint, but I couldn't stand waiting any longer and strung her together. She didn't get too badly scuffed in the process, so I'll call that a win! Also I think I know what the problem I'm having with the paint cure time; in my attempt to find a brush that feathered the paint on smoothly, I went a little too heavy with it--you're supposed to go as light as possible, and build up layers. Sooo hopefully she'll be actually cured and safe to handle someday 😅 but right now it still feels iffy. Up close you can see brush strokes and cat hair that got in the paint, but to be honest I'm fine with how slapdash she is. XD she's pretty neat. I have a head rooted and ready to go on this body, but I'm waiting for the paint to settle down--i popped a burner head on one of the reject legs overnight and it came off with significant gray marks. Not a good sign. I'm hoping the reactivity between the soft head vinyl and the mirror paint lessens once the paint is dry, but I'm also going to coat the inside of the head with matte sealant to form a protective barrier, just in case.
In 2019, I was thinking about Doll Chateau's humantaur dolls and thought I'd scratch the itch with a modding project. I got a couple of the Tall MTM dolls and just went for it. They were attached with Apoxie sculpt, then E6000, then I went over the seam with some acetone-melted plastic goop a la @dolljunk , although I didn’t realize that the skintone didn’t quite match until I saw it in daylight, haha. I’ve since put a better-matching 90s Teresa head on this body.

Oh I love her, but she's also a bit of a tragedy. The culturehustle mirror paint still hasn't cured completely, I found silver marks on my hands after posing her. 😭
Tho I dunno if you can even see it in this photo. Still, she's getting dull in places. :-/ I'm not sure what element is the issue here, but here are a few of my guesses:
maybe I didn't shake the paint long enough?
maybe Mattel's 90's plastic is reacting to the paint's solvents?
paint layered on too thick to cure?
maybe culturehustle is overselling itself.
I feel like I ought to paint a rock or something so I can see how the cured paint is SUPPOSED to behave? Idk. I put a layer of sealant on the inside of her neck to try and prevent the mirror paint from staining her, but I'm not holding my breath for it to work 100%
Wehhhh. I think I might put this head on a different body and use one of the resin Allan heads John/dolljunk sent me several years ago instead. I have one more culturehustle product I want to try on dolls that might suit my rerooted witch better...
