Guidance Counselor at Ben Franklin High School

+ Friendly, Quirky, Energetic
- Unserious, Scatterbrained, Flighty
» Personality «
Barbara has always been the girl next door, friendly and energetic with some refreshing quirks to her personality. She enjoys hanging out with friends and previously enjoyed going for a burger and a shake down at the local diner. Since ’76, however, her diet consists mostly of the sanguine variety. Even though she’s thrown out the concept of getting a tan, she still likes to keep it bitchin’, as her outdated colloquialisms dictate. She also sticks to her high-school nickname of “Barbie” and gets teased for it mercilessly by her students at the school she works as a guidance counselor at. She looks like your average twenty-something greenhorn fresh out of grad school but she has the wisdom and life experience of a woman who should have grandchildren. However, underneath her genuinely bubbly personality and kind demeanor, there is an experienced and ruthless vampire who knows the ins and outs of the modern supernatural world and how to protect and sustain herself.
» Biography «
Growing up amongst the straight laced middle class back drop created the back bone to Barbra’s personality and history. As she and Eugene-her wonderful high school romance- left for college they experienced everything the flower power era had to offer. They loved each other as much as anyone has ever loved each other. He was always there for her and she was there for him. Even that night where he came and fed on her the first time there wasn’t a moment of doubt that she would stay with him for the rest of their lives.
Once she and Eugene were separated the hole in her life never seemed to close. After a while it wasn’t as painful as it once was and finally it seemed to heal over, leaving a thick ugly scar over her memories and her future. The bubbly personality was still there of course. Nothing could ever take that away in its entirety but sometimes, when things seemed low, she can’t bare it.
Louisiana was a great new start for her. Drunken tourists brought back memories of the good old days, and there were plenty of people like her to spend time with. Barbie was always fighting the trope of lonely brooding vampire: Throwing that image away and redressing it with a polk-a-dot sweater, and a sunny yellow dress.
Relationships:
Luna Cresswell – Barbie loves Luna’s style, and as good friends two vampire women can get, they are on their way. They gab about this and that, invite each other over for stolen blood transfusion packets and movies, and help each other stave off the crushing loneliness that often comes as a side-effect of being a vampire.
