Bar Astor || Rio de Janeiro
Bar Astor is a large contemporary restaurant with classic decor and a huge patio space directly facing across unobstructed views of Ipanema Beach.
The trendy restaurant is packed. We chose to sit in the patio for dinner and it was great. Servers were quick and efficient, and the crowd is trendy.
Food was good - it was your modern American bistro with American-like prices to match. The dishes were huge though. Spaghetti - Al Dante & flavorful - good size
Fish - Simply made but they include a lot of fish meat, great! You can taste the fish as the herbs were on the lighter side, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were good too
Risotto - shrimp style and was good; a bit more "soupy" than I'd like but the taste was flavorful.
Drinks --> Caiparinhas: strong & on point! Servers also walked around the tables with drafts of beer ready. Great if you feel like a beer or two.
