yesss, such a brotherly bond.

     ❛  do you so easily  forget  that the  kett  claimed the same ?  ❜    it snaps out a snarl,  as wet  &  oily on his tongue as in his memory.  he slicks it down to something smoother with an exhale,  unstitches it like the  tension  suturing his shoulders together.  he has to inhale the growl that wants to follow  –—  stuff it down behind the ribbed cage of his lungs. 

&  when he speaks  again  it’s softer,  composed;  a rumble of far-off thunder,  that sickly atmospheric green before rain.    ❛ … but that’s  all right.  you’re still  young.  ❜ 

the solid clap of his hand meets baranjj’s shoulder,  slides down the arm.
