What's the reason? And don't be afraid i don't hurt you.
I'm not sure if I could trust you on that anon with how you phrased it but I am making content for them this Inktober. Then again, I wpuldn't want a dead ass long explanation of why I ship them undeneath the art. So, sure I guess.
Okay, the thing is is that I actually ship Yu with Makoto, or what I'd like to call BanQueen. I'd claim that I don't know where this came from but I actually do.
It started a long time ago when my sister and I had an earlier version of the P3, P4, and P5 protags as siblings. It involved them growing up in Tatsumi Port Island and the younger siblings being sorta aware of what SEES was. Sae was a SEES member in this au so that means Makoto was also sorta aware. During this time we actually don't know the full plot of the other games so it was mostly just made for the sibling dynamics since we love that sort of thing.
Anyway, having Yu and Makoto know eachother since childhood sorta sparked this. Although we didn't primarily meant to ship them, it just kinda happened down the line by the time we were trying to construct the plot for P5 in the au.
We ended up making their personalities compliment eachother. They're kinda like the mom and dad of the group. Makoto keeps everyone in check while Yu tends to give a lot of advice.
We gave them matching codenames, Kingpin and Queen. Kingpin due to the whole Bancho thing.
And in the canon of most of our Persona siblings aus, we always make Yu go to the police academy to pursue his dream of being part of the police force or be a detective. And well you know about Makoto. So you could clearly see why I ended up here.
Even with a revised version of the siblings au we made, we would at least give them a good relationship. Especially if Yu's a phantom thief. They're kinda like Mitsuru and Akihiko, but much calmer and lax.
But I think in a non sib au setting the two would still be great together. Makoto wants to pursue her own justice and defend the weak. Yu drives to find out about the truth no matter what.
So there you have it, BanQueen!
