According to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), a strong earthquake struck off the east coast of Indonesia and was felt in Australia's Northern Territory - Earthquake Darwin. At about 11:25pm Central Standard Time, the magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck the Banda Sea, about 620 kilometers north of Darwin. Geoscience Australia said the 142 km deep earthquake struck. The BOM said the Australian mainland, islands or dependencies are not affected by tsunami yet suggested they felt the quake in Darwin. "Did anyone fell that earthquake? @BOM NT certainly did! Magnitude 6.9 at 11:23 pm CST in the Banda Sea, about 620 km north of # Darwin," tweeted the group. Top End residents reported feeling of swaying buildings and great tremors.
