I created this bag back in 2019. It is part of my “Future/Past” collection. It was to become available for purchase on the skwilbur.com website last March 2020. But then the pandemic hit and nobody was buying anything. And it just seemed tone deaf to try selling such a joyful, luxurious item when thousands of people were dying everyday. I quietly loaded it to the website several months later and shared on social media that it was for sale. Yesterday, a woman named Beth bought it from the #baltimorecraftweek virtual marketplace. I am grateful to be on a platform that allows “new eyes” to see and appreciate and support my work. And I am grateful to God, too. Keep wearing your masks and get vaccinated.
