59. Things you said after we fell in love.
âMahal kita, wifey.â
âMahal din kita, hubby,â Leah answers automatically, waking up to find Clark gazing at her lovingly as usual. Itâs become their own version of magandang umaga ever since their remarriageâClark started it because he had simply been so happy that he could now tell her that and not have to pretend it wasnât true, and have her know that he really meant it, that he had started telling her several times a day.
It had been the first and last thing heâd said on their first official date, the same date where he asked her to marry him again. In the span of that four-hour date, they told each other no less than fifteen times.
âI have a surprise for you,â Clark continues, and he jumps out of the bed. âStay right there, and donât look.â
Moments later, he returns with a tray of food that he places in her lap. âHere you go. Bacon, eggs, andââ
âIkaw!â Leah yelps just as Clark strips off his shirt and finishes, âMe!â with a huge, teasing grin splitting his face.
She places the tray on the side table and sits up on her knees to give him a kiss, then pulls him down onto the bed. âI should never have told you about that dream.â
âOh no, I think itâs definitely the best thing youâve ever told me. Besides âI love you too Clark! Youâre so pogiâââ He adopts a high-pitched voice, and she rolls her eyes and kisses him.
âOh, so you agree?â he asks, biting his lip and raising his eyebrows, laughing.
âNo, it was to get you to stop talking.â
By the time they get to the food, itâs cold and the eggs are rubbery, but cold bacon is still good bacon, and neither of them are particularly upset about what they did instead of eating.
In fact, it might become a weekly ritual.
