Improvisation en pointe never fails to make me feel better.
I spent some time today playing around with pointe before my students arrived and oh boy, how I needed that! It's been a couple of months actually since I last danced en point, so I was so amazed how my muscle-memory is still intact.
Today I noticed how my lips involuntarily stretch into a genuine smile and how my lungs spontaneously expand with a deep breath once I take the first step inside the studio. Then I put the music on, and suddenly, somehow, life is worth living!
Sometimes I feel the music turns on a switch in my brain that changes everything, including myself. I feel different when the music is on. It flows into my veins and I feel it reviving something so deep inside. Something I don't know the name of, but it wakes up and I'm very much my truest authentic self. So rooted, yet flowing like a river. Sometimes I feel the music talks to me, and all the time I feel we get each other.
May I always feel like home in dance studios. May I always belong to dancing and music. May I always find solace in letting my body translate music notes into movement poetry.

Her body brackets the room like a quiet quay, one ankle planted, the other piped in lacy light. In the aquarium of her mind the currents stir — each careful breath bending darkness into flight.
Her hand rises like a question to the cosmos—thinking morphiously, she becomes the answer.

The tutu fans like a small, private cosmos, pointe tips like stars that learned to hold fire. Softness rebels with muscle and ritual, and joy blooms stubborn where labor meets desire.
She struck the silence like lightning in silk — a voltage of grace, tearing through stillness, her body a live wire of hunger and art, burning beauty into the bones of time.
Her body is a compass of contradiction—flexible yet firm, lifted yet grounded. In every off-balance arc, she becomes the example of what emotion looks like in motion.
