How to do a perfect bun
Good afternoon fellow dance lovers!
Today I will be talking about how to do a perfect twisted ballet bun. Have you ever wondered... how is it done? Well, today is your lucky day!
First make sure that you have all the materials needed. This list includes 1 brush, gel, water bottle spray, hair spray, hair net (not the one the school lunch lady uses, but smaller and thinner. you can find them in Walgreens, CVS or dance stores), an elastic band or rubber band (depending on how thick is you hair), and about 4 to 6- 2″ long hair pins (referred as Jumbo Hair Pins). The ones I like to use are Sta-Rite black pins which usually have 25 pins per packet and you can find them at Sally’s beauty supply stores.
Once you have all your supplies, you can begin. Comb your hair to take all the knots off, then wet your hair (by using your water bottle spray). After that procedure you put gel, the amount needed for your hair. you comb to even it out and proceed to hold a pony tail with your elastic or rubber band in the middle back part of your head.
Now your hair is ready to start the hair twist. YAH! you are going to grab about 1/4th of your hair on the right side. You are going to twist either in or out, how ever its easier for you, and twist and twist till the bottom part of the hair. once done you are taking the twisted string of hair under the pony tail and will go around until you have no more hair left to twist and will secure the first string of hair with a jumbo pin. You are going to repeat the same process of the right string of hair, although, this time you will grab the left string of hair and once done twisting, you will put the string of hair on top of the pony tail, until there is no more string of hair to go around and secure with jumbo pin and repeat with the other two sections of hair.
All you need to do now is use hair spray to secure and prevent all baby hairs of coming out. Place your hair net ,evenly, on top of your bun twist the extra net around bun and secure it with 1 to 2 jumbo pins to keep it in place.
Congrats, you are a bun expert now! I hope you had fun reading this. Post pictures to let me see your A+ bun!
Kisses
