Welcome to my tumblr! My name is Erin, 49 years old, rescue dog mom, wife, and an alopecia warrior. I have been living with alopecia for almost 13 years, and started out masking my baldness with wigs, wraps, and hats. It took me about 5 years to settle into my new reality of having alopecia…but once I did, it was absolute FREEDOM. My hope is to share a bit about the bald life, my life in general, and a few laughs. I also wanted to take a moment to say to other women who may be watching or looking for that place to belong…I SEE YOU, and you look FABULOUS!

As women we were never really encouraged to buck traditional beauty standards and claim empowerment in those parts of us that can be viewed as less than perfect. We were told that hair = beauty. When we started losing it, it was immediately about how to hide it, not embrace it.

I’m here to say that you are 100% allowed to change that narrative whenever you feel ready.

✨You are allowed to love your bald head.

✨You are allowed to feel sexy, powerful, and strong without feeling the need to hide in order to feel that way.

✨You are allowed to be you, however you want to be… as loud as you want to be. Girl, take up space. Stop making yourself dimmer because others can’t handle your light. Shine, mama!

You are perfect. You always have been.
