Sakurai appeared in an advert for "BAKUNE" pyjamas.

He was cast as an image character for the same product that he regularly uses, and he commented with surprise, ‘I was surprised why it was so obvious that i loved "BAKUNE".

The new commercial is based on the theme of "exercise to relieve daily fatigue" and shows how Sakurai actually uses "BAKUNE" to convey the importance of exercise in a busy life. By playing two roles, one person plays "two selves", and "Sakurai, who is unaware of the existence of "BAKUNE! and sleeps in regular pyjamas", attracts the other, "Sakurai, who uses "BAKUNE", daily and pays attention to its conditioning". The content is that once you recognise it, you get the joy of being able to comfortably recover from fatigue.

Sakurai, who appeared on set in his pyjamas and introduced as "the first character in the advert", greeted with a slightly embarrassed smile and said: "Thank you." In the new commercial, each person takes on the task of playing two roles. Sakurai, who wears "BAKUNE" regularly, says, "I gave "BAKUNE" to my colleague for her birthday because it's so comfortable."

　During a meeting with the director, Sakurai was asked to "naturally play the roles of the two Sakurai-sans." After familiarising himself with the materials, he headed with an enthusiastic expression towards the art set where two beds were lined up symmetrically. The first scene was shown directly without rehearsal, and Sakurai did a great job portraying himself as "awake and tired’" but he volunteered "please let me do it again" to get his best performance.

　The filming of "Sakurai in "BAKUNE"" finally began, and Sakurai once again appeared in a dark blue "BAKUNE." Although the costume was prepared for filming the commercial, it's obvious that he always wears "BAKUNE" as pajamas, "I mean, it's embarrassing. because it's what i wear at home (lol). Even the colours are the same (lol),’ he says with a wry smile. "Wouldn't it be a good idea to wake up in the morning and go straight to the studio?"-he said jokingly, eliciting laughter from those around him.

　Compared to "tired Sakurai who doesn't know "BAKUNE,"" Sakurai in "BAKUNE" has an extremely large number of lines, and since he has to complete his performance in a certain number of seconds, he worries, expressively saying, "It's difficult." He was mindful of the long lines and showed an exquisite performance capable of interacting with the "tired Sakurai who doesn't know "BAKUNE"" who had already finished filming, and the director called it "amazing." However, Sakurai continued to strive for a better performance, saying, "I still don't feel like I have a good answer."

　In addition, to complete the dialogue with "tired Sakurai-san who doesn't know "BAKUNE"" and the tempo, Sakurai continues to play "Sakurai in "BAKUN"" while keeping the rhythm by himself. Sakurai said: "It's true! That's awesome! It fits!" When filming moved on to the fight scenes, Sakurai said: "It's true! That's awesome! It fits!" One could cringe at the sight of those two. We had such a good conversation, and i continued working on the rest of the shoot with a smile on my face.

Please tell us how you feel about being appointed as the image character of "BAKUNE" that you've always liked.

Sakurai-I was surprised. I wonder why they were able to tell me that they love "BAKUNE" (laughs). It's very strange to introduce the "BAKUNE" that i always wear for sleeping. A few months ago, in an interview for another project, i said something like, ‘I took the challenge as hard as i could." I said: "i've found clothes that help me get full and relax, so i'm going to wear them…" At that point, i didn't get that offer (to appear in a "BAKUNE" advert). At that time, my "leisure wear" was "BAKUNE"… I was very surprised. What i said in the comments on set sounded like an "advance" (laughs). I was very surprised when i found out later.

-Please tell us how Sakurai-san and "BAKUNE" met.

First… I think it was given to me by the staff. So i started wearing it and i thought, "It's very nice." A few months ago, walking around town, i found a shop (Official "TENTIAL" shop) and i thought, "Oh, there are so many different types here!"-and started wearing them.

-Sakurai-san, please tell us what your favourite thing about "BAKUNE" is.

Sakurai-I wonder if it's comfortable. The fabric is smooth, but it's not hot in the summer. When i wear shorts in summer , I sometimes get a little sticky with sweat, so ("BAKUNE") long sleeves and long trousers are comfortable, so i wear them when i go to bed.

-Do you know how to get up in the morning? Or are you a weak person?

Sakurai-For about april and may, i was very strong in the mornings: getting up around six in the morning and going to the gym until eight in the morning. This summer, i was very sleepy and slept for about ten hours…. I'm going through a transition period(laughs). Ideally you should wake up early in the morning and start moving, so i want to move as much as possible in the morning.’

-What people would you recommend the "BAKUNE" fatigue recovery pajamas to? If you had to give it as a Christmas gift, who would you give it to?

Sakurai-The person i actually gave it to is the coach. I wanted to thank him for checking my body all the time… or rather, i would say: "You must be tired as a coach," so i wanted to thank you in return. It was the best i could do, so in the past I have given it to someone who took care of their body. I'd also like to give it to Kotoge-san from "BIKING", who was very sleepy in the morning after sleeping on location (lol). "Please sleep properly‘" (laughs). When i work this job, i have an irregular schedule and my sleeping hours vary, so i thought it would be great to give this to someone like that as a Christmas present.

-Please tell us what you do to maintain your condition other than wearing "BAKUNE".

Sakurai-At the moment, i only work out at the gym two or three times a week, but i wonder what else will happen…. I've started going one or two stops. It was a bit hot in the middle of summer, but when it's nice, like this time of year or early spring, i started using my time to think about different things while walking and memorise lines while walking. It sounds like a ‘mental and physical state of mind.’
