One thing Bard did like about the Mirkwood Elves where they knew how to celebrate; with enough music, wine, food, and merriment to last for days. He especially liked how their king seamed to relax slightly in light of the festivities, even if he did not join his subjects in dance or much in the way of indulgence of any kind. He was surprised he had been invited, even if he was an ally from the neighboring kingdom of the rebuilt Dale; even more so when he found himself alone with Thranduil, the Elvenking singing a song for his ears alone.
