When the dining hall became too hot and too crowded and too loud, Nari slipped out, her heels echoing in the empty halls. She opened the first door she came to, stepping outside onto the grounds. It was cold, which she found comforting, especially after being in the stuffy dining hall. She assumed it was too cold for most people, so it came as a surprise when someone joined her. “You’ll catch a cold,” was all she said. 

Strength of Mind

Lennox could feel the tension in the mansion. It was palpable. Quite silencing really. And it made perfect sense. The news wasn’t on their side. The media wasn’t on their side. Them being mutants. Lennox didn’t know much about advice, but he did know enough about distractions. So, he was in the kitchen. Cooking up a big dinner for all of the X-men was hard, different specifics for different members, but he did it when on special occasions. He was one of the most favored cooks in the house. At least in his mind.

Nat barely left her room -- save, when she absolutely needed to; for training and  all that junk -- but during the rare occasions that she did, the girl would only appear for 5 minutes -- 10, at most -- in high hopes that the shorter she stays outside the comfort of her room, the less people she’ll run into. She dashed quickly to the kitchen, intending to find a bit of a late-afternoon snack. Once there, she gathered 2 bags of chips, a can of soda, and a bar of chocolate just  to keep her sugar levels high (the latter she clamped in her mouth as she ran out of hands). Hearing the shuffling of feet however, Nat cursed internally and turned towards the person who caught her red-handed, letting the chocolate drop as she spoke, “Promise you won’t tell and I’ll uh...give you half the bar.”

Allison tapped her pen against the table and looked down at the her half-written letters. Her eyes darted between the blots of ink on the page and the glass of half-finished orange juice, noticing the ring of condensation that was forming around it. After another restless night she had found herself in the dining room, trying to ignore the rising sun that was reflecting off the table and into her already blurry eyes. 

“Sorry I am in a rush.” Alec stated, pushing past the person and heading towards the class he was shadowing.
