Charlie the Unicorn Very Bacon Powder

  This candy is a very fine powder (think the consistency of flour) with little clumps of something I can only assume is “bacon bit” in nature. I, essentially, felt like this stuff was an affront to the universe. A was slightly more impressed (and continued to eat). Grace said she thought the stuff was pretty good, but I noticed that she made no attempt to go back for more. ;) *

Pig Boogers

Yep, this candy is seriously called Pig Boogers. They’re little candies shaped like Nerds, and they seem to be candy-coated bacon bits. And they are oh-so-wrong. Just wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. We all tried these at the same time, and we all had simultaneous looks of horror, revulsion, and betrayal on our faces. These could quite possibly be the most disgusting thing I have ever consumed…and I have tried some weird stuff, y’all. Also noteworthy: We all observed that this candy smelled suspiciously like dog treats. Yikes!

Maple Bacon Taffy

Okay, this one doesn’t need a lot of explanation…it’s taffy with maple and bacon flavor. That’s all there is to it. Honestly, I was expecting this to be the height of nasty. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it’s actually pretty good! The taffy is a little stronger on the maple than the bacon…which I think works well for something meant to be sweet. Grace and A were also pretty impressed!

*John, having eaten way too much at dinner, and having already had pie for dessert, opted out of this week’s Adventure Snack. I’m wondering, though, if he had some sort of secret intel and just knew better than to get anywhere near those Pig Boogers. ;)

Sweet & Spicy Bacon Candy

This one is pretty simple, and it’s something my wife and I make on occasion as a snack for holiday meals. Get a pack of pre-cooked bacon and sprinkle some brown sugar, cayenne pepper and chocolate powder all over the slices. Bake in the oven to crisp up the bacon and to melt the chocolate and sugar. EAT! You CAN make the bacon from scratch and skip the pre-cooked aspect, but I like shortcuts.…

If there’s something that we’ve figured out about Plan B, and specifically Plan B Milford, when they set their minds on something, they destroy it.  Like, seriously…they kill it.  Case in point:  The Third Annual Bacon Week at Plan B Milford.  Want a bucket of bacon?  Done!  Want to eat a “healthy” Swine salad, bacon candy bars, or bacon candy apples?  Done, done, done!
