'One Riddim' is a real institution in the reggae/dancehall scene, a true Jamaican tradition that has become a very particular way of production work. For people who still don’t know it, the concept is simple: different singers and deejays add their voices on the same instrumental version, each one delivering their own cut on the riddim. Most of the reggae & dancehall labels have recorded and put out 'One Riddim' projects and now independent French record label BACO RECORDS does it too. Of course, they wanted to add their own “Baco touch” to the "Black Bird" & "Big Slap" riddims, that work perfectly together. These two riddims were created by City Kay’s members, very productive musicians from the underground scene. Respected artists such as Sizzla, Anthony B, Beenie Man, Luciano, Gappy Ranks, Balik from Danakil, Pierpoljak, Marcus Gad, Jahdan Blakkamoore, Spectacular, and Manjul delivered their cuts on the "Black Bird" & "Big Slap" riddims. From Jamaican international stars to new emerging artists from French African and American scenes everybody found his place bringing his own touch and style to this ultra-diversified project’s tracklist. BACO RECORDS now opens its riddim box and invites all singers and deejays to participate on that project! Download the riddim of your choice, record your own version and send it to [email protected] before January 15, 2019. NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO FROM NATTY JEAN. The single "On M’a Dit" tells the listener about how Europe became a distant and dangerous dream for young Africans. On October 5th 2018 Natty Jean returns with a new album called "Imagine" (Baco Records), an explicit title that reflects the singer's desire to bring a touch of hope from Africa. Written in Wolof, French and English, his lyrics offer a panorama of the state of West African youth, their concerns, their dreams, and their openness to the world, far from the miserable clichés.
