Winter days always seem a bit rougher than summer days. Maybe it’s the bite of the cold, making your nose run and your fingertips lose feeling. Maybe it’s the ever grey skies that darken only a few hours into the evenings.
Either way, he was waiting for you to come home.

Masterlist
Work had been a battlefield in every sense of the word. You were no stranger to twelve-hour shifts or days that blurred at the edges and left your body aching, but this one had hollowed you out. The emotional toll clung to you like a second skin, and your limbs dragged beneath the weight of exhaustion.Â
When you finally stepped through the apartment door, it was as though the air itself sighed in relief with you. The familiar scent of home wrapped around you like a soft blanket: clean linen, faint coffee, and something unmistakably Bucky.Â
But your clothes felt like armor you couldn’t wait to shed. Shoulders stiff, feet pulsing in your shoes, and your back a tight, unrelenting knot, each step forward was a negotiation between pain and determination.
“Hey, doll,” Bucky’s voice pulled you from your haze. He was always a little amused when you tried to pretend you were okay, as if he couldn’t see right through you.

the latest freaky thing I've been into is adults burping each other.. like partners or friends burping their friend by lovingly patting and rubbing their back until a belch comes out and the person's stomach feels better. you love them so much to comfort and baby them like that? how sweet
Foot Rubs And Back Rubs
Trigger warning: pregnancy, fluff, fibromyalgia, foot rub, back rubs, Steve Rogers
Summary: You're very pregnant, and Steve gives you a foot rub when your feet are aching. He also gives you a back rub.
You're sitting on the couch, eating you're umpteenth bowl of ice cream, with your feet up. You're feet are aching, and you're not even sure if your socks are matching. You're 35 weeks pregnant belly now prevents you from doing a lot of things. Basic tasks like brushing your teeth, showering, even going to the bathroom requires Cirque-de-Soleil-esque precision and execution.
James was kicking up a storm, knowing that Steve would be home soon. You rub your belly.
"I know, James. Daddy will be home, soon! Mama's excited, too!" you say, talking to James. This causes him to kick even more in response to your voice.
"Don't tell anyone, but Daddy gives Mommy the best foot rubs," you say to James.
Tony had put you on maternity leave, no questions asked. It was nice, because you now focused on getting everything prepared for James. You were busy nesting-making sure that every surface was clean, every thing was meticulously organized down to the last detail, and that the house was at the perfect temperature. Even the cupboards and fridge was clean, well-stocked, and organized, according to food and according to color. Even the dresser and the closet in James' nursery was organized according to item, size, color, and season. You had white in one place, light blue in another, yellow in another, light green in another, then the colors went into darker colors for the fall and winter, with light colors and white being set aside for spring and summer. The crib was built, and had everything that it needed, mobile, pee pad, mattress cover, and even decorated with a quilt that had fit the theme of the 1940's nursery. The nursery was painted with white and light blue, with an American flag, and a vintage poster of Steve dressed as 1940's Captain America.
I have been so excited to show you this beautiful makeover, and it is perfectly timed. Â In the spirit of the Fourth of July, I...
Where are the Nazis?
"Okay, mama will read you a story, and then daddy will be home when we're done," you say, talking to James again. You were hoping a story would calm him down.
You're mind goes back to this morning. You were lying on the bed, naked, as you did every morning. Steve was drawing you, while you had you're right hand resting on your belly, smiling lovingly, and Steve was telling you how beautiful you were. He even captured every stretch mark.
You now looked at all the things that you had gathered for James' birth. You were planning a home birth. The obstetrician had you at low risk, and that everything was ready. James would be here in five more weeks.
You were busy reading James a story that you didn't hear Steve come in.
"Hi, doll. I'm home," says Steve.
James was kicking even MORE now.
"I know James. Daddy's finally home," says Steve, as he puts his hand on your belly, feeling his son kick.
Steve kisses your belly where James kicked.
"Did you take good care of Mama?" asks Steve.
James kicked in response.
"Welcome back, Steve," you say.
You and Steve kiss lovingly.
"Doll, just sit there. I'll get us some Chinese takeout, and you can just relax for a bit. While we wait, you read to James, and your feet look really swollen," says Steve.
"My feet hurt!" you say.
Steve helps you back down on the couch, getting you into a position. Steve hands you a picture book, and you read to James. Steve positions you so your feet are in his lap, and he starts to rub your feet.
You were also battling fibromyalgia. Your feet were aching and they were swollen. Just trying to walk right now, while 35 weeks along, took a lot out of you.
Steve was rubbing your feet. You actually welcome this, otherwise, you would be sitting with your feet up, trying to ignore the pain.
"Oh, doll. I just wish you weren't in this much pain, due to your fibromyalgia," says Steve.
"Steve, don't stop, this feels good," you say.
After a while, the Chinese comes via delivery. Steve pays the delivery person, and even tips them. Steve grabs the food, and then washes his hands. Steve pulls out two plates, and dishes out the food. It smells good to you.
Steve comes into the living room, and helps you up. It was much easier with assistance. Steve helps you to the dining room, and he helps you sit in the chair. You and Steve start to eat.
"How did you know I was craving Chinese, and was in need of a foot rub?" you ask Steve.
"I noticed you've been in a lot pain lately, your feet are swollen, and it's getting difficult for you to walk," says Steve.
"Well, walking is painful, and usually when I get a flare up, my feet are the first thing that hurt," you say.
"Plus, I had a feeling that you were craving Chinese, and I was right," says Steve.
"You're right. I was going to call you to ask you to order it, since I had a craving for it today," you say.
You kiss Steve lovingly. He's been with you through everything, and was more sympathetic and empathetic to you. Steve was very sick, and had a lot of illnesses before the serum. He hated seeing you in pain, due to a flare up. But, it is what it is, and being pregnant often made your fibromyalgia worse.
"Steve, I love you so much. I love your foot rubs. I love you," you say, with tears.
"Shh, doll. I love you, too. You really needed a foot rub today. I can't wait for our James to arrive," says Steve.
Steve helps you to the bathroom, and helps you get into bed. He places the covers over you, and then sits and reads next to you while you drift off to sleep. You peacefully sleep, with the pregnancy pillow, and Steve was giving you a back rub right now. That was also putting you into a deep sleep.
