so i just read the malum x ashton fic and i now have a very very serious question to ask you: what on earth posseded you to hate this?? i genuinely mean it when i say that this catapulted itself to the no 1 favourite fic spot within a handful of paragraphs.

girl, for real, this is one of the best fics i've ever read. the banter is so so good, the tension is so palpable, the suspension is amazing and the smut is so fucking delicious. like, when i got to that part i genuinely had to put my phone down for a second and take a moment to breathe because what the actual fuck how? i was so close to, like, having a stroke, or straight up exploding, i have no words for what this did to my brain.

every single time you upload a fic you absolutely make my day, and i don't know how to stress enough that i mean it.

you're so incredibly talented, and i really hope you realise that

once uni releases its fucking stranglehold on me, i will come back to this and also to the muke vampire fic (god, i fucking ate that one up) and also the malum neighbours fic (so many thoughts about that one, oh my lord) and quite frankly so many others, and give them the praise they deserve

- vamp!calum who dresses conservatively during the day and slathers himself in sunscreen, but nobody notices because he's got an exquisite tan anyway

- vamp!calum with a suspicious aversion to forks

- vamp!calum that shows up to the studio at the crack of dawn, ready with entire lyric sheets and melodies, and everyone assumes he's just a night owl

- vamp!calum that's loved by all the elders because he asks "can i come in?" at every doorstep, and they just assume he's got wonderful manners

- vamp!calum that isnt opposed to period sex. vamp!calum with a biting kink, but he stays latched to his partner's skin for juuust a bit longer than necessary

- vamp!calum that gets outed as a vampire to his band, but only because he slips up and says "thats not how it works" at a vampire movie, and the rest of the band are like "🤨🤨 how would u know"

- i love love love reading platonic conversations, esp when it comes to ot4. them being silly and bickering and making jokes at each others' expense... it's my favourite thing. i love reading friends being friends. can you tell im a sucker for found family

- i can't handle slow burn angst or hurt/comfort ... it hurts to read and it hurts to write </3

- i like to stay versatile in dynamics when i write but i'm actually super picky when im reading fics .. if it doesn't have the character dynamic i want i tend to pass

- friends to lovers is currently my favourite trope. in any context. its sooo interesting to watch everything play out.

- canon compliant fics !! set in the existing universe !! them on the road as a band or them touring or them making music or them on vacation together its so much fun

- i enjoy reading internal monologues, they're so much more layered than narration/description. love when a character is freaking out at something and you can read through their thought process. bonus points if they're swearing and saying dumb shit to themselves. maybe they notice something new about their love interest and can't stop thinking about it. also when they're describing other characters from their perspective—its super interesting to see what an author thinks a character's eyes will be drawn to when they look at someone else. UGH im always all in

- i love putting characters in unlikely situations. accidentally sent a nude to your classmate that you're super into? Hell Yes. got trapped in a small room with no way out? Yum. called up the wrong number but you realized you're super into the guy that picked up? More Of That Immediately.

- dialogue !!! dialogue is the key to my heart !! many times my eyes go directly to the quotation marks in a fic to grasp whether or not i want to continue reading
