I am running the pants off of this pregnancy! Really killing it this month (March not so much).
Gained about 22 lbs at 23+2, which is more than I wanted but I'm trying not to stress about it. Quarantine Carbs, man.
For shits and giggles I went back through my Garmin data and looked at where I was at this point in my pregnancy with Theo. I was running maybe once a week at that point, so I'm doing much better this time around. I looked back to see when I stopped running, which was about 33 weeks. At that point I switched to mostly swimming, which I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this time due to quarantines... We'll see.
In other news, I signed up for a race today. I know, I don't expect it to go on either. It's June 20th about 3 days before I'm 33 weeks, but it's the race I did in the morning that my mom died last year and it just felt like the right thing to do, cathartic or something. It's not on the same day which is good. It's a 10K and even if it doesn't happen at least I've supported my local nature center.
The last race I did was a virtual 5K (pic below) and before that was the 15K in Florida. This is not the year that I had planned with races (I think that goes for everybody).
I know it's kind of my jam to be really intermittent with my posts lately, but wow this quarantine has really kicked my butt. I've been furloughed for about 3 weeks which means I'm getting unemployment which is not great, nor is it the financial year we expected going into maternity leave in a pregnancy. I'm really hoping that I won't feel like I need to cut my maternity leave short because of finances. The other thing we're debating is pulling Theo out of daycare because they're still charging us and even at half price it is just pissing money away since he's not going. Which adds to more stress because what does that mean? I keep Theo home through October on maternity leave? Not what I was planning. Got an email from my boss today that they're hoping maybe we can go back at the end of May but it'll probably still be two teams alternating weeks so still likely only half pay, which is better than where we are now, and again what do we do about daycare...
I'm trying to take this quarantine / furlough in as good of a light as I can. I am spending a ton of time I wasn't ever going to have with my firstborn baby, and that really has been mostly wonderful. All toddlers have moments, and luckily his are few and far between. It's given me the opportunity to run every other day or so, to cook more at home and not eat out, to spend more time with my husband while he works from home. All good things. I miss seeing my family, I miss going to work, I miss letting my kid play with the neighbor kids and talking to my neighbor friends at closer than 6 ft. But I know it's not forever and I'm just trying to take it one day at a time.
I think that's enough for now.
How are you all doing? Coping with this okay? Hopefully still getting some fitness in? Leave me a note!
Rainy day run. You can really tell where the hills are. And some Bump pics. I have taken two this go-round. Feeling plump lately 😅.
It's a...
Girl!
Not bad for pushing the stroller! Then we had to go mow the park and count the geese. I joined the Rock and Roll virtual series, just for some fun motivation. You can earn some coupons, but nothing to crazy besides having weekly challenges.

Having a great April. I didn't really want to run that third mile, so it was a lot of walking, but hey I was pushing a stroller and T kept wanting to get out and walk too. It's great to have him run with me when there's not so many ducks to stop and look at. Bought a new bra because I'm sick of getting rubs. Big day in my house! Lol.
Well sweetheart, you look a little silly, but the extra height should buy me a few weeks of comfort with my growing belly.
