Another major crypto security incident has hit the market.
B² Network suspended its B2 staking service after an attacker gained unauthorized access to the smart contract’s upgrade authority — the administrative permission that determines how the contract operates.
On-chain data shows that approximately 8.59 million B2 tokens, initially valued at $3.86 million, were stolen and sold for 5,409 BNB. The proceeds were later transferred to Ethereum, converted into ETH and USDT, and routed through additional protocols.
The market reaction was immediate: B2 fell by almost 30%, while trading volume increased sharply.
B² Network says the incident has been contained and that all affected users will receive full compensation.
The attack was part of a wider wave of security incidents involving AFX, Verus and Balance. Together, the exploits once again highlight the risks created by compromised administrative keys, vulnerable bridges and poorly protected price oracles.
