‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎THERE WAS STILL AN adjustment period. with lian back in his life, roy had never been happier. he also found himself more concerned for her than ever. she was a hero in her own right now, not just his baby.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎that ... sat horribly in his chest. the only thing to ease it was dick ; despite the years of separation and delicately balancing how things had been with how they needed to be now -- there was always love.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎just as roy had found his daughter again, he found the same spark he'd shared with his best friend years ago. it had started with dick offering to let him talk through things, a shoulder to cry on.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎and as most things went, they simply fell back into old patterns. a sudden kiss and a moment of hesitation before needing him closer, and suddenly they were teens again. like they'd lost no time at all.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎things had finally slowed down, even if it was probably temporary, which made the timing finally perfect. roy cooked dinner, lian was hanging out with connor for the night -- it was finally time.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ROY LOVED TAKING HIS time with his husband. who could blame him, really -- with how stunning he was, how willing and always so eager for anything to do with the redhead.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎the kids hadn't made him any less obsessed. maybe more, if that were even possible. it just meant the rare day where they had the house to themselves, he was fully intending to take advantage of that.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎TAKING LUCKY TO THE dog park only felt right. he'd been away for a bit, wrapped up in some case that dragged on a helluva lot longer than originally intended. mostly, it just meant kate got extra time with him before clint could finally have him back for his week.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎he let the golden loose, instantly going to sniff and find whatever else. the blond decided to let him get comfortable before bringing out any toys. but of course, that plan was out the window pretty fast.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎another dog had already come up to say hi to him, a cute pit bull that seemed all to happy to bark and run around with lucky. grinning, the archer snapped a pic or two to send to kate.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎it wasn't until a stranger approached that he remembered that this was definitely someone's dog. offering a wave, “ i see lucky's made a new best friend. i'm clint. ”
