So B.A.R.F was fun all around. I had never been to that Faire ever in my many years living here in Florida.

The only thing that really bothered me was the battle chess, which is what I performed in at the Faire in Gainesville. I was told that these performers were super great and awesome and that our group needed to be more like them. So I brought my camera and tripod to record this super amazing group.

I was sadly disappointed in the quality of the fights. I was a non-fighting character in our show and I was even pointing out some of the hand-to-hand combat that was going on. While my roommate is standing there pointing out all the sword fighting flaws.

The guy that was telling the pieces where to go was calling patrons that they asked to come up and be chess pieces horrible names. Like he called two heavier set men out because of their wait and the girls he called to stand with him whores.

Also they had this super unclassy fight were a character who was supposed to be pregnant get the shit beat out of her. The fight consisted of constantly punching her in the stomach with her tell the other fighter to stop hitting the baby.

Yes, the show I was in may have been this cheesy version of a King Arther School rivalry. But at least we kept it classy and interesting.

All of us that sat and watched this train wreck of fight agreed that us chanting a song we had from our show about the melee fight was the best part of the show.
