He has all the time in the world to think, to let his mind drift and wander over the vast sequoia forests of his subconscious. Of course, this is only because he is not actively pursuing a target at the moment, perched on top of the Space Needle; otherwise his mind would be completely and exhaustingly blank. It was always difficult to reconnect with the world after a mission, after sitting motionless and thoughtless for hours upon hours until finally, precisely, taking the kill shot. And take the kill shot he did -- Hawkeye rarely misses. It's the times he does miss that are the hardest.
