🗓️ 26-27/12/25 • Day 28-29 of Documenting My Life

Been reading quite a lot these past couple of days. I read a light-hearted Finnish book, the sequel to Tarja Kulho, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The first one was one of those books you get sucked into and read within a day, and this one was no different.

I also finished going through the thesaurus I was working through. Did you know that if you search "words that start with X" on the Merriam-Webster site, you get 453 results, while for, for example, A you get 22,000 results.

And lastly I finished the Swedish version of Winnie the Pooh. I think it might be my all time favourite book, and it was fun to read it in Swedish. Even if it isn't one of my first languages, this reading experience was purely for fun, and it was so enjoyable.

Other books I'm still working through and (slightly less desperately) trying to finish by the end of the year are Albert Camus' The Fall, which I am making no progress with, Fantastic Mr. Fox in Greek, which I am understanding bits of, surprisingly, and finally She and Her Cat, which is more athmospheric than anything.

I also set up my desk for study streaming, and I'm hoping to try it very low-key and mainly with a desk view. I figured if anyone will be interested in it, it will be because of my notes, so I'll give it a go. I have to study anyway, so why not try to take part in the community and possibly make it more enjoyable for myself!

🗓️ 19/07/25 • Day 20 of Documenting My Life

🦋 This was a very difficult day for me. I studied greek, put my clothes back in my closet and I still need to organize the closet better, I made lentil curry for lunch, did the dishes and dyed and trimmed my hair. Then I was too sad to do anything in the evening so I made myself a chocolate mug cake, listened to music, cried and straightened my hair. Looks great.

I said I owe you my life - you said you don't want it

🗓️ 04/07/25 • Day 6 of Documenting My Life

🍵Today I finished my study checklist in my journal, and did an overview of one course. I tried to do it as efficiently as possible, just writing down keywords of what to remember when studying. This course is due at the end of the month so there is some time pressure - it's not a problem, but I need to prioritize progress instead of perfection to keep things moving.

While I had much more studying to do for the day, I'm trying to be happy with the progress I made - there are only so many hours in the day. Also focusing on my study wins is comforting when my health recovery isn't progressing the way I had hoped.

I also had a movie night with my mom - we've been doing these for the past 3 Fridays now. I had a lovely frozen fruit plate to cool off and enjoy myself druing the movie, yay!

Trying to learn that rest, while stillness, isn't backward movement.

🗓️ 25/07/25 • Day 22 of Documenting My Life

🩵 This week has been going on as a sleepless coma from the heat and the responsibilities, trying to find the motivation. My deadline for the swedish course is creeping closer, and if I don’t turn it in on time, I’ll have to start over and do an exam to pass. So I’m trying to gather my scattered thoughts and get through the exercises, though I haven’t even begun the graded assignments yet. Stay tuned...

This time I feel change like electricity on my fingertips.

🗓️ 16/07/25 • Day 17 of Documenting My Life

📚 Picked up my things and went to the library to study. Finished my day's swedish and chemistry 1 study goals. I still have 13 courses I'm lagging behind with but... it is what it is. Progress is progress.

I went grocery shopping and looked through the walk-in for any unusable coats. Texted a good friend, we've been having difficulties catching up so it felt important to do.

I read a whopping 7 pages of a book I wanted to finish, so that goal didn't get achieved. I just don't seem to be able to focus in the evening heat. But I did get a 20 min music session in again! We're getting there.

Progress is progress, we say with gritted teeth.

Introduction

HELLO everyone! i'm back again!

i've decided to take this blog to a new direction - instead of trying to force myself through all the productivity challenges.

i will be aiming to post (preferably daily) as a way to document my life. i'll bring up highlights, reflect a bit and so on. it's pretty much the same thing as the challenges. blogging also always gets me to take more photos, so i'm looking forward to that.

🗓️ 09/07/25 • Day 11 of Documenting My Life

Today I organized my desk and wandered to my safe space, the library. I went to pick up 3 study books, but of course I came home with 5 other loans as well...

I'm really into YA books at the moment. I never had that phase when I was younger - seems like I jumped straight from childrens' books to adult novels. But I'm having this lovely phase now, where I enjoy lighter novels and coming of age stories.

I baked some potato flatbread I had been craving for a while now, and I took a walk to the river. I also washed my hair. I was meant to do much more, but I opted for an early bedtime instead.

Tangled in the things that don't belong to me. They surround me.

🗓️ 01/07/25 • Day 3 of Documenting My Life

🌊Today I woke up at 6 am to have an early breakfast with my mom before her surgery. It was nice to be up for the extra hour in the morning - the world around is silent, and everything seems to move slower.

I spent 40 minutes playing my guitar, and updated my reading list. My reading goal for this year was, again, 52 books, which I have not reached ever these earlier years by the way - and to be completely frank, still having 38 books to go doesn't inspire confidence this year either.

I keep having to push my planned books to a second reading list because I keep bringing impulse loans home from the library... Although a huge plus is that the poetry I keep gathering is usually a quick read towards my goal.

I also realized in the evening that I need to tweak my study plan a tiny bit, still, but that is tomorrow's challenge.

These days I find joy in the quiet moments.
