I just read the first article and…. enjoyed is probably not the best word to describe my experience. But thank you. It was so clearly written and just so depressing. It’s hard to think that these two boys, now men, will ever find a way out. A couple question:
You described rumors of Xander’s using H to attract women, and when that episode was finished but a shadow hung over him, then private photos of he and Harry were released, with others.I think I didn’t understand the significance of releasing the photos at that time. Was there something i didn’t get?
I have heard a recording of Louis saying “Harry and I are coming out next year.” It was when this “relationship” was being used to have the gp see h with a man. I read that the coming out was then stopped because of Zayn leaving. (The band couldn’t withstand 2 crises). However you are suggesting that it was because this imploded?
Oh sorry one more: do you think they actually had/have a friendship. That he wasn’t a stunt that Harry resented? I think younger H was perhaps more of a pleaser, tho I hope now he has more agency. it may be too late to extricate.

I'll try to answer your questions. As far as I remember regarding the Xander scandal, were leaked photos of his private parts that he allegedly sent to girls. The controversy generated subsequently forced him to close his social media accounts. I'm not an expert, but I know it's quite common practice to release photo bombings when someone is about to close an account. Anyone who can confirm or deny this is welcome! Whether the photo bombing in this case was done with the purpose of underlining, despite everything, the close relationship that tied him to Harry is only a hypothesis. They were still business partners after all. I don't think the team wanted to break things off with him completely, publicly.
Second question: Zayn's departure was a huge blow, but honestly, I don't think it ever really affected the boys' coming out. I'm convinced that neither Syco nor Azoff ever seriously considered their coming out, but rather used it as a tool to manipulate them, leading them on.
And finally, you're right, young Harry was definitely a pleaser, and I think a lot of people took advantage of that. I don't think Xander, Jeff, or any of those who are touted as friends, are truly friends. They're "co-workers" with whom Harry is friendly either by nature or because he's forced to act.
