curren is definitelly manipulative but i dont think its out of malice like she clearly has a very warped way of percieving the world and generally has good intentions.
i havent gone throuhg ayabe's full story since i dont have her but like ive seen the RTTT anime. She feels survivors guilt for her twin sister dying at birth. She woudlnt knwo this without her parents telling her. The way i understand it she probably had clinical depression to some extent and she developed survivors guilt at finding this out from her parents. While its not fully their fault they absolutely should have noticed and gotten her help when she was young??? maybe they did try but idk
