My first tea bowl ever was glazed in this amber edged red-green #lagunaglaze called Plum Blossom Green. It is fussy about application, temperature, combos, and clay finish, so I stopped using it 4 or 5 years ago. But the New Year's glaze test extravaganza found me giving it another try. Turns out this glaze works best with the glaze applied in horizontal brush strokes. I have never seen that before, so now all my test tiles are vertical application on the front and horizontal on the back. Tea Bowl #32 of 100 Inspired by a memory of my son playing in the surf at sunset on Kauai. The pottery is a more accurate representation of my memory than the photo. Shimmering black sand made bronze by the setting sun. *wistful sigh* Shout out to @axnerpotterysupply and their lavender colored porcelain. You can see it's pastel beauty in the carved area at the base.
