Textured Open Crate #2
I do and I don’t like this piece..
I like the rusted texture, however it’s not seamless and that’s very irritating.
Again similar to the previous rusted closed barrel, the structure of the barrel doesn’t quite match to the texture.
So I would adjust the texture and mix up the structure a bit for this model. :)

Textured Closed Crate #2
I’m happy with the crate model itself, but I’m not happy with the texture. I attempted at creating an army green burnt/rusted/dented metal ammo box in mind, but my vision clearly wasn’t portrayed through this texture.
It may well be worth looking into painting texture tutorials online / in books!

Balance - Using (a)symmetry to create a (un)stable feeling.
Movement - portrayal of movement within a static composition / placements of elements to guide the eye through the composition.
Rhythm - recurrence of regular elements throughout the piece with variations, that leads and paces the eye.
Focus/emphasis - key element of the composition. Secondary elements guide the eye back to the focus.
Contrast - Distinct differences between elements either visually of in subject matter.
Harmony/unity - the use of similar elements to create a sense of wholeness within a composition

Avoid a Sore Thumb - nothing in the composition should be so strong that the rest of the composition looks neglected

We were asked to create our own basic character in Maya. I created a robot, as I really struggled to build anything else and I found this component to be the hardest out of them all. Looking back on this model I can see how i could of made it better and with more experience will be able to develop on that.

Component 5 inspiration for robot character.
Component 4
We were given the task of creating a model head in Mudbox to then transfer and retopologise in Maya. This was the first time I had ever used Mudbox and I really liked sculpting.

My own hand painted textured knight. I did not make the 3D model, it was given to us by our modelling tutor James Burton. This is another one of my favourite parts of the module for this year, I enjoyed painting the textures.
