#Repost @awarecauses ・・・ I am Christina, I’m 23, and I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. EDS is a rare, genetic, group of connective tissue disorders that effect the collagen in the body, making our various tissue very loose and fragile (amongst so many other things). I chose black and white for my pendant to represent our “mascot,” the zebra. It is taught in medical schools “,When you hear hoofbeats, think horses not Zebras,” as a way to remind Students that symptoms usually belong to the most common answer. But for those of us living with EDS, our answers are anything but common. This condition effects every part of my life and body, but it doesn’t dictate who I am. There is so much more to me than EDS, but I wear my necklace each day with pride as a way to start a conversation, raise awareness, and even as a personal reminder of what I have overcome.” @watercolor_me_impressed 🦓 #awarecauses https://www.instagram.com/p/B3xgFJVprtM/?igshid=3eqrhifo3nz7
