I'm researching some of the coolest Twitter and Facebook campaigns this year.
*Ben & Jerry's Fair Tweets
My number 1 must be Ben & Jerry's launch of a Twitter application to promote Fairtrade Day on May 14th. The app turned tweeps unwanted Twitter characters into a message promoting the day! Watch the video to see how it works- I call it genuis!
*UNICEFIndia: Awaaz Do
2nd is UNICEFIndia's #AWAAZDO campaign. "Awaaz do" is a Hindi phrase meaning "lend your voice". Objective: Create awareness about the number of uneducated Indian kids, and get them to school. Mechanic: Target influential people/celebs and get them to RT or mention the campaign. Results: #AWAAZDO was mentioned 1525 times, @UNICEFIndia got 2198 new followers and the Awaaz do website got 203 248 sign ups of people wanting to make a contribution to the movement.
Look out for more Twitter and Facebook campaigns right here! Please share any that you may come across in your social networking time too.
