Anime Weekend Atlanta’s schedule app is out!! There are still lots of events coming to the schedule, but I would like to call attention to 3pm on Saturday afternoon. No, not just for the typo (that should be fixed soon, that’s on me).
That’s right! We’re screening another Takarazuka musical: Rurouni Kenshin! With subtitles by @animaniacal, @captured-moon, and @chemicalperfume! If you came to Lupin III last year, this will be a similar situation with one very big exception:
Zuka-related prizes (coughchirashicough) and special guest Animaniacal herself to talk about some of her translation choices and to provide historical context and introduce newcomers to the Revue! If you’ve seen Animaniacal’s subs in a stream already, revisions have been made! There’s something for everyone at this screening!

I’m in the middle of compiling a LOT of anime for an upcoming convention and anyone who even casually watches anime can help me by answering with anywhere from one to five (or more if you have that many) US-licensed titles. They don’t have to be “objectively good” or justifiable in anyway; you just had to enjoy them:
1. What show do you like to show your friends over and over?
2. Anime has been cancelled forever starting next month. What is the one (or more) show you want to make SURE everyone sees before it’s gone forever?
3. There’s some doof claiming he’s seen ALL the worthwhile anime. All of them. Death Note, Bebop, Evangelion, the whole nine yards. What show that you enjoyed do you immediately think there’s no way he’s seen?
4. What, if any, is your favorite shortform anime (15 minutes or less per episode)?
5. What’s your favorite Japanese TV ad? (links if you can find them!)

confirmed: the Atlanta Braves will be out of town the entire week leading up to and the week of Anime Weekend Atlanta 2017.

an entire video room that’s just HiDive shit. Anything you see in there is available on the single cheapest anime streaming service in the u.s.
