Percy paced around his mid-size Washington apartment. Boxes surrounded him, the living space still half-unpacked. The one good thing about his internship with Sanford is his father was quick to agree with him about how a grown man should have his own space. To entertain... his father had trailed. Network. He knew that secretly maybe his dad would hope that this included a girl... That maybe Percy living on his own in Washington would allow him to cozy up to another Republican intern.
Well, his father was about to get his wish.
He looked at his watch. Avery should be over any minute now. But he couldn’t help himself. He wished he at least had the capability to direct his energy into unpacking a couple of boxes, but he didn’t. Instead he moved them around, adjusting them so at least they were mostly pushed to the side. He took a seat on the couch, got up, moved to the dining table. Back to the couch. And then, a knock on the door. He moved to it quickly, spotting Avery on the other side as he opened it and ushered her in. “Hey... Are you - are we sure this is a good idea?” he said, nervous energy radiating through his tone as he moved back into the apartment, rushed.
