It felt like an eternity as Avery was wandering in this.. Space. Horrid, black, empty space. Has it been hours? Days? Weeks? It was hard to tell. It felt like time didn’t exist in here.

I will find you, I promise.

It felt like nothing existed in here. No temperature, no sight, no sense of self. Only Avery’s physical body.

I can’t leave you again. I’m scared that you’ll be gone.

But they needed to find him. Somehow, in this empty and vast darkness. They just needed to. They wouldn’t stop.

Please.

After what felt like an eternity of walking, nothing in sight, they see it.. Light? A beautiful, white light. And a figure standing in it. Their eyes widen.

..Derek?

The figure looks at them, his yellow eyes piercing into their soul. It was hard to make out the details, but they knew who it was. They knew it was him.

Derek! I- I found you! I found you-

And they see it. The silhouette turning into nothing but yellow ambers, dust, slowly flying away into the light. As those same yellow eyes stared at them.

..No.. NO-

Horrible pain pierces them as they attempt to reach out, falling on their ground and grasping at their chest. It’s so hard to breathe.

..Please..

Through tears in their eyes, they look up.

Avery’s eyes widen as they watch him slowly fall apart and disappear. They scream out, reach out, despite the horrible pain piercing through their body. All is they feel like they’re physically getting pulled back.

nonoNO NO DEREK NO PLEASE NO NO-

DEREK!—

Those last words echo as they get dragged away from the light. For one final time.

And then it was dark again.
