“I’m not trying to be a dick here on purpose, honey.” Avery’s famous last words. Thankfully Safia was usually pretty understanding of his bluntness. “I don’t think there’s anything weird going on with the house. I think maybe you’re a little freaked out because you’re not used to being out in the country and all the little bug and critter noises.” he said with a little shrug. “And let’s say there was an owlbeast, or a rust monster, or even a mindflayer here...you know I’d protect you darlin’.” he joked as he finished putting together an IKEA bookshelf for them. It was one last little piece of the city to keep in their new place. “Tell me what you think you heard again.”

With a little grin he moved to sit down on one of the benches, looking back to Lana. “How has the trip been for you?” he asked, wrapping his arms playfully around her waist, pulling her down into his lap. That was the one nice thing about New York, unlike Scranton nobody really looked twice at PDA. “Better than California, right?” he smirked.

Avery hummed when he finally heard the door open. He must have been in L.A. for hours.  After the first one he got tired of standing in the heat, but thankfully it wasn’t too hard to get into Lana’s house. He was so jetlagged he went and laid down on her bed. He’d make sure to secure the place before he left.  Still he had wanted to actually surprise her,  to have some romantic entrance, instead he pushed himself out of bed, still in his sweatpants and hoody.  There was roses on the kitchen counter, and his bag in the living room. “Long time no see.” he hummed, too tired to realize how much he was about to scare her.

It was funny, he made it sound as if they were in an MMA ring, or if he was a professional, when really they had spent nearly an hour moving all of the furniture in his studio just to have enough room to move around.  “Just don’t hurt me too bad.”

His heart thudded in his chest as he heard movement in the kitchen next. He held his makeshift weapon close as he approached, apparently ready to stab Casper the Friendly Ghost with a phillips head. Instead as he rounded the corner and nearly bumped into his wife, he let out a hilariously squeaky scream and dropped the screw driver. “Holy shit! Holy fucking shit!, Saf” he yelled, a hand flying to his chest. “Why didn’t you say hi or something, ohmygod.” he rambled as his hands moved to her shoulders, making sure she was okay, that their ghost friend hadn’t scared her either. “I think I’m having palpitations.” The actor continued dramatically.
