society can impact someone to the point where they even reject their own culture to fit in.

Stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason. They’re almost expected, so I guess that’s okay. Whitewashed poc is, ultimately a personal choice, but it’s also kind of sad. It’s usually the result of having your own identity taken away.
