It had only been about two weeks since Kaila hadĀ escortedĀ Thor, the god of thunder, to a nearby pound and since then, she found most of her time spent with him and his 3 legged dog. After fights with Bucky or other team members, which were growing more frequent by the days, Kai would seek the pair out. As the days passed, Kai realized how underestimated Thor was by most of the group. It bothered her. The more time she spent with him, the more astute she realized he was. It made sense though. Thor was to be king of Asgard; he had to be. He was just culturally lost on Earth, and she related, remembering her first few years in Egypt.Ā
To say Kai wasn't attracted to the blonde would have been an obvious lie. From his persona to his physique, the woman found him intoxicating. Kai was, after all, the rebirth of a goddess whose attributes included, though were not limited to, sexual desire and lust. But lust is where her feelings ended. Kaila knew she could allow herself to feel emotions beyond that of lust, but she'd been that route before. The first time ended with the public execution of her partner, by her own orders, and the most recent, twelve years ago, ended when her lover left for another. No, love and all feelings in relation had proven to beĀ futile and short lived. She wanted no part in it again. Still, she found it hard to shake the masculine man from her mind, even now as she attempted meditation.
Kai was sat on the floor in her quarters, graciously loaned to her by Stark, with palm sized candles encompassing her body. The lights were absent from the room. Only orange and red flames lit the dark quarters, letting shadows dance across the walls and Kai's figure. Her legs were crossed into the full lotus position and her hands met, fingers crossed and thumbs lifted, fingerprints touching above the laced fingers, forming a circle. Kai practiced her breathing with the flames. Which each inhale, they dimmed. After each exhale, the flames expanded again andĀ engulfedĀ the wick they laid upon. It had been a good hour she'd been at the meditation and after a few more breaths, she opened her eyes, releasing a heavy sigh. Concentration seemed impossible with the god in the same building as her.
"I'm too distracted." She frowned, unlacing her legs and stood. With a quick flick of her left arm, the flamesĀ diminishedĀ and Kai pressed the light switch on, letting the room fill with light once again. She shuffled the candles with her bare feet towards the base of her bed and threw herself onto the welcoming mattress with a huff. "It's his stupid hair." She groaned into the duvet with defeat. She remained on the bed in herĀ sprawled position for awhile until her watch beeped at her. "That's right..." Kai frowned into the blankets before rolling over onto her back. She'd promised Thor she'd help play with Sif. Thor had explained that the dog derived more entertainment from two people instead of one earlier in the morning, much to her annoyance now. She leaned up on the bed and looked to her clothing, debating whether to change or not. The yoga pants and sports bra that covered her were a worn blue color, but stillĀ comfortableĀ and she quickly deemed them acceptable for playing with Sif. Without much more delay, Kai forced her feet into a pair of running shoes and tied her hair into tight ponytail, lacking motivation to due much else with it, and opened her door to begin searching for the god and his dog.
