There’s so much that I can or could say. There’s so many feelings caught up in last nights event. I don’t even know where to start past 39 hours 13 hours driving back-and-forth from JC to Richmond. Car rides where we listen to a lot of music that made us happy and laugh and some of the worst records any of the bands we’ve ever liked put out. stayed in a beautiful hotel with some of the best air-conditioning I’ve ever experienced. Saw the friends from near and wide all in the same room for one reason to enjoy the fuck out of @availrichmond for the first time in a long time. like when a third of your life passes and you don’t even think you can recall the last time you saw them actually. unlike jawbreaker when i was left wondering why people were so happy to sing along to such miserable songs i felt a connection to the people in that room. angry songs. songs about personal betrayals and emotional confusion. feelings of being alone and running away when you make any connections and some how some way ending up in similar if not the same place over and over. ran into @skapegoat_projects they remind me i drove them to their first avail show and i can’t say i remember that specifically. i wonder how many people took this photo this weekend? our quick trip to @charmschoolrva was a who’s who of “friends” from the pit. knowing we are all in that swampy city for damn near the same reason. you nod you say hellos and you see how great everyone is feeling just because we saw some people play some songs. so here i am. back in jersey wishing i was standing there in richmond waiting another 20 minutes or so to see them hit the stage again but i’ll have to wait until september in asbury and brooklyn. life might try and keep handing you lemons but sometimes you just got to start packing those shits in mason jars packed with salt a preserve them for some other day or maybe give them out as gifts. hope everyone else had the BEST night last night because we all fucking deserved that. thank you AVAIL for being you all and doing what you did. #availrva #lombardystreet #dixie #overthejames (at 2300 N Lombardy St) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0KSAennmfr/?igshid=6g4i73fy6pjh
