"I know you said your tech tended to get damaged, so I made this." It's a reinforced phone; water-, fire-, shock-; the phone was effectively simply 'proof'. Hell, you could use it in a pinch as an improvised weapon by punching someone with it.
Marinette beamed as she took up the phone in her hands, feeling the weight of it fully. Not particularly heavy, but also not fullylightweight, it would be hard to misplace or ignore in her hands. Breaking itseemed virtually impossible. Opening it up, all of her apps were there, everything that she wanted to see, except one very important thing.
“There’s no pictures on this.” She murmured thoughtfully, before an idea sprung in her head. “I know! Let’s test the camera!” Marinetteinstantly clicked on the proper button, opening the front facing camera, holding it up so she could take a picture of the two of them. “We’ll have thisbe the first picture on this phone.”
But, as she tried to adjust it, she found she disliked theway it looked from the upward angle, causing her to pout. “No…That’s notright.” Looking around, a smooth railing that held the barrier between theSeine and the pavement was only a few feet from them. “That will work!”Marinette happily walked over to it, her mind focused on setting up the camerato snap a picture of the two of them with a timer.
So focused, she did not notice the uneven stepping just bythe railing.
Tripping up, suddenly gravity took hold of the girl, pullingher down to the ground. Her elbows thudded against the ground, causing herhands to open, sending the phone sailing from her hands. Everything seemed toslow down in that instant, her gaze watching as fingers slipped away from theelectronic, it skating across the pavement, sliding beneath the bar of therailing, and a loud plopping from the river could be heard as the water swallowedit up.
