Progress report:

Ava has managed to contact both Kieran and Simon to get information about the environment. We suspect they are still keeping some information secret. They haven't mentioned seeing the SM-8 or meeting anyone else down there.

Jack has finished his design of the shuttle based on Ava's notes. He is no architect but as long as he leads the project with the other welders he believes they will be able to construct it. A copy of the drawing is attached to the attachment of this report.

Maria has successfully constructed a resource gathering team. They have successfully had 2 missions so far. She suspects this planet/moon might contain iron if we start digging. She has a spot in mind. Besides meteorite gathering it would be a great way to increase our steel supply.

David has nothing to report. He comments that if we build the shuttle one of us has to go down there. He calls 'dips' on not going.

Before we can begin constructing the shuttle we need more resources. While thouse are beeing gathered we will hold a vote where every C.O.I member can choose if they want to build the shuttle or keep the gathered materials to support the main base.

Prepare for expedition

-> Fill the shuttle with necessary survival supplies for a delayed retrieval. As well as medical supplies for the convicts.

-> Final tests of equipment. Lights, pully and cooling device.

-> Prepare crew. Current Crew members: Ava. (me) Future shuttle members: Ava, Convict one (Simon), Convict two (Kieran).

-> Retrieve final map updates.

The construction of the shuttle got delayed. Instead of the expected 48 hours, were approaching 60. No one have slept. Including me. Were so close to finally getting the answers we need, we cant let a few set backs keep us from completing our mission. This is bigger than us.

Observations: The pulley is able to hold the load of the shuttle and then some. It will give us a safe entry and retrieval from the pit. Hopefully that will be enough.

Title: The construction of the SM-14

Date: 118 days since settlement

Location: Groundbase workshop

Objectives:

Gather the remaining materials

Build the skeleton of the shuttle

Construct lights

Construct cooling device

Prepare supplies

Gather all parts and construct the finished shuttle

Construct the pully.

Work has already been going on for about a day at the time I am writing this report. The teams have split into multiple smaller groups, and some already build constructions are beeing re-purposed to get the shuttle ready at a quicker pace. Jack is still not allowed to work, but he oversees the project so a similar... incident dont occur here.

Observations:

At this rate we expect to have Ava send down into the pit in roughly 48 hours. Until then she is to prepare herself and practice the navigational 'ping' system. Constructing has had no incidents so far- no future comment.
