I gotta play Knack 2 myself at some point; relying on a youtuber's playthrough is sometimes quite annoying. I'm having some trouble making a minecraft skin of Ava because the game seems to have her different shades even in the same location/time of day.
She is much lighter than other Black characters. At times she is almost lighter than Katrina, although the two only appear in the same scene at the end of the game and not very close to each other.
Dad suggested she may be half-white due to her appearance. We're not sure if she has referred to Garret (Black) and Hale (white) as her brothers in the biological/familial sense or the brotherhood of monks sense.
I'm pivoting to target her skintone as rendered in gameplay rather than cutscenes, to see if that is more consistent.
I notice other Black characters are very desaturated, and perhaps unfortunately so. All characters who are not main characters appear to be desaturated, which makes sense, but it is kinda sad for the darker characters. After all, melanin is a colorful pigment. Some magical lighting action on the Black characters would have been nice. They do it with Ava's skin in various parts.

Who's your favorite character in the Knack games?
Probably also Knack. But lately I'm looking to rotate Ava in my mind, instead.
To be honest, I've been mentally chewing on Knack for so long, I wonder if he's starting to lose his flavor. I've just been thinking about KNACK, especially Knack, 24/7 for almost a year now. Even while I'm asleep (though I don't remember much of that). Whoa.
I think I got stuck on a single aspect of his character, and I worry I'll be saying the same thing over and over in my stories.
Not sure why I chose Ava to put under the microscope next; I just think she's cute. I want to put her in different outfits and pick at her brain.
I have a huge backlog of things to draw. This will be fun!
