My latest genius app idea, this time to bring #ActuallyAutistic interaction badges to mobile communication. Heavily inspired by Autscape!
The app doesn’t actually have a chat function or anything built in. It assumes you already have established communication methods with folks. So maybe I’ll IM on Telegram with Moni, but send tweets to Elsie, and use WhatsApp with Jazzable.
Tapping [prompt] sends a little notification to someone asking them what their current badge colour is. That link only appears if they’ve not updated their badge colour for, let’s say, 36 hours.
Maybe it could be possible to link usernames with contacts in your phone - so tapping a username could take you to their contact card in your phone contacts, and from there you could open the chat with them in WhatsApp or send them a text or call them or whatever you like.
Because sometimes I am socially anxious and think that someone doesn’t want to be bothered for no reason. At Autscape the interaction badges deal with this very well! But away from Autscape, my friends are all contactable easily by IM... and in order to see if they’re happy to be talked to, I have to talk to them.
