Roach introduced Makarov to AAC.

Andrei and Yuri haven’t been able to focus because Makarov has been spamming the lizard button because he enjoys the sound. Andrei is seconds away from taking the tablet from him. Yuri is ever patient. Reminding Andrei that this was a new thing for Makarov. Makarov was trying to fully understand the app and figure out how he can use it to help him in stress situations or when he was sensory overloads and goes nonverbal.

Yuri had lost track of how many early missions to their cause had ended poorly because Makarov got overwhelmed and couldn’t speak to explain this to others. The AAC app would become a huge asset for Makarov and his ability to voice his needs when overloaded.

Roach introducing Makarov to the idea of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)/sound boards. Ways to talk without talking and Makarov is absolutely floored because he’s never seen or heard of anything like it. It amazes him how with just the tap of a button words are created. No speaking, no flailing his hand, no desperately trying to explain without using words that he’s overstimulated. It amazed Makarov and made him earnestly tear up. It wasn’t fair that Makarov had been suffering without this resources during his nonverbal episodes.

Roach immediately apologized for making Makarov cry. (Unaware that it’s happy tears and not sad tears)
