Is there a reason your ROs are all gender flippable? Also, thank you so much for the non-binary inclusion, I know it's more work to code <3
There’s not a reason that they’re gender flippable; it’s moreso that I didn’t see a reason to make them a set gender.
A lot of the decision comes down to personal preference, and what I like in choice games, and that’s romance. Personally, I don’t really read choice games that don’t have multiple ROs that I really enjoy, and for people exclusively attracted to one gender identity, its hard to get that feeling unless there’s either a whole slew of ROs (at least three of each gender identity) or some, if not all, are gender-flippable. If I could talk myself out of giving an RO a set gender, then I would, and I simply managed to talk myself out of all of them.
Also for the second part, a huge shoutout to @hpowellsmith, who was really an inspiration in that regard. Without studying their code in Creme de la Creme, I wouldn’t have known how to do it successfully. That said, it’s really not that hard once you get a hang of it!
Thanks for the ask, and I hope this answers your question :)
