Being an indie author is HARD

I'll be completely honest, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing 99% of the time.

Writing a book is already different enough, but then you realise you also have to somehow become your own marketer, promoter, social media manager, editor... and about 10 other things i wasn't prepared for 🥲

I have NO idea what I'm doing when it comes ro promoting my books or getting people to notice them.

Honestly, the best thing i can do is draw my characters and hope people like them. 😂

And writing books themselves isn't exactly easy either. There are days when I stare at my manscript wondering how I'm supposed to finish the next chapter, let alone an entire 6 book series.

But despite all of that...

Last song: I'm listening to the "Hamilton" soundtrack in my car. I can't remember what song it stopped at lol.

Currently watching: Detective Conan/Case Closed. It's a loooong binge watch.

Current obsession: "Seeking Persephone", and by extension, the "Lancaster Family Series" by Sarah M. Eden. I lost track of how many times I've watched the mini series, and kind of binge-read the main book series in less than a week. No regrets.

May watch it again later... we'll see. 😇

Currently working on: HAHA. Oh wait... you're serious? 😰

I actually have two different works-in-progress:

"Fugitives Chapter 26" (currently untitled). Sat dormant in my google docs for about 4 years. Made very little progress on it the other week. Not entirely sure where I was trying to go with what I originally wrote... since my younger self had no use for real outlines past like... chapter 5 of this fic. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know what -needs- to happen in this chapter. Putting it into words is just really hard. I might have to switch gears and either make this impossible scene a flashback told later... or abandon it entirely to focus on a different subplot. Not sure.

I guess you could say that this hiatus has been my... Achilles heel... 😏 (Is that reference chapter foreshadowing? Hmm...)

"The Nightmares of Shibuya." A Detective Conan fic I started writing about a year or so ago in an attempt to get back into writing. it's a Sato/Takagi fic mostly based on "The Bride of Halloween" film and most of their love-story canon cases. Progress on that comes and goes. I really want to post it on AO3, but it's my first Detective Conan fic and I want it to be finished before publishing. Last thing I need is another unfinished fic to die on AO3. I'm on the seemingly last chapter unless I write an epilogue. So there's hope that I can do this. 😊🙏🏻

I actually have a whole series mentally planned out for that pairing... but I can't indulge other projects for it until I finish this fic first. It's the backbone of the whole collection. Will I ever get to write it all? Probably not. But I'm gonna try my hardest to give it my best shot. Officers Sato and Takagi are my favorite characters (and pairing) of the whole series... and I really want to do them justice.

Who knows... maybe I'll post a snippet from the fic on here at some point. Would anyone like that? 🤔
