The whole “If you ship one of my NOTPs - have a nice day. Just - not in front of me. “ rule, it’s not meant to require anything of anyone, more a general expression of - ‘I don’t like my NOTPs, but you can like them, and I’ll just do my thing elsewhere.’ Just don’t shove them in my face sort of thing. I do follow some people who ship ships I dislike, and just use blacklisting and the like to avoid those posts, where practical. And the rest of the time I put up with it.

4. How does reading smut make you feel?It really depends on the style of writing. I think writing smut is HARD! (no pun intended…?). Like describing the mechanical actions isn’t particularly difficult, but that is not compelling for me. I’ve read a lot of romance stories in fandom where they just insert the sex scene because it’s like the next logical part of a relationship… and it’s just… mechanical, and I get bored. Usually, I’ll skim through it if this is the case because I want to get back to the relationship - to them talking and interacting and being cute! (But when learning to write this stuff, you gotta start somewhere!) BUT if the writer manages to incorporate a subtext that makes the intimacy PART of the relationship development or expression. Where there’s an element of what the sex means or represents in the relationship itself conveyed through the writing, actions, or word choice, then I’m totally glued to it. I soak up every word. And yeah, I’ve definitely been turned on by it before. My husband loves it when this happens! Haha!It’s not something that I feels HAS to be in a story! But it’s also not something that I avoid at all either. 10. What is your reaction when you see that your favourite fic just updated?Oh man! I have a really bad habit of checking my email on my phone in the morning when I’m getting up, and during breaks at work specifically for story updates! If it’s a favorite I will often read it on the spot. Sometimes, this gets me out of bed! Sometimes, it makes me almost late. Sometimes, I won’t drive home from work until I’ve read it - I will sit in my car and read it first! I sometimes have little self-control… 15. What’s your favourite sort of AU?Goodness! I don’t know. I really love the Reveal Trope if that wasn’t obvious. So I kind’ve love everything that redoes this moment and explores all the fallout. I write a lot in this area myself. This does mean, that I probably avoid AUs that don’t have senshi powers. But not always though because I also really enjoy seeing characters all grown up and just trying to deal with life. I also tend to enjoy “fix it” stories - where the writer is trying to explore a certain headspace, or acknowledge the fallout of trauma that the original content glosses over or doesn’t acknowledge at all. And you know, contrived situations where characters are forced into awkward or intimate situations by power flukes or meddling friends. Honestly, I have no earthly clue why it matters. I guess they feel attacked by someone daring to not like their fave? Some of their rhetoric also feels weirdly projecting too, so who tf knows

Making Ward a villain/evil isn’t necessarily a cardboard cutout, IMO. It’s a legitimate read from the source material, especially given the choices the writers insisted on making, over and over and over again. At the end of the day, I think the view on Ward you and I tend to share (among others) makes more sense to the character we saw onscreen, overall, ish, but its not like people are pulling Evil!Ward out of their asses. The writers did that for them.

I mean we could go back and forth on who missed the other’s tone since the aim of the reply of the intent apparently went woosh, but what’s got me way more curious is just how fucking old do you think I am?

Yeah that’s why I’m so confused every time I try to reblog a post of the blog and find that I can’t. And I’m not that active in the Shameless fandom. I made like 15 gifsets for Shameless? Tumblr is weird.
