Everyone likes lock, we all know that. Fandom's best boy especially among the lsb lovers and appreciators. Little red boy, and I see why! I love lock too! He's mischievous, he's cunning, he's a little bit of a poser but we love him! He's great! He has potential to be a very in depth character! Rebellious teenager, annoying little brother vibes, and again to mention how adorable he is. No shade towards people who like him, especially those with appreciation for teenage/young adult aus of the trio! Again, much potential as a character and very adorable.

People like shock a lot too! Arguably a lot of people like her for the wrong reasons (just liking her for lockxshock which is arguably just liking lock) and no shame for liking the ship! But you're like the character for the wrong reason! Shock has plenty potential to be loved for the amazing character she is! The character arks! The possibilities! I love her greatly and I wish the fandom loved her more! She's the most bossy older sister vibes, she's enthusiastic, she's funny. She can and should be appreciated more by the fandom. Normalize having popular female character and not just for their hetero ship potential.

Barrel. I love Barrel. He is such a sweet and clueless character. The youngest of the trio and the only one with manners (ex: Zero's Journey)! My main issue is the fact that he is extremely overlooked. I've mentioned this in a post on my main but you can just tell when someone was a lockxshock shipper and it shows. You know how? Because of barrel! Every single time I see posts where people give these guys in depth stories or redesigns it's always lock and shock look pretty and barrel is either his canon design, or he looks worse than before! They're all canonically little freaks but if you're going to make lock and shock pretty atleast offer him the same treatment! Barrel is always treated as a throwaway piece of cardboard character in favor of the other two and I'm not even mad it's just saddening.

From the game (I believe) Barrel is implied to be Oogie's favorite. It is implied (in my opinion) that Boogie treated barrel more like a son than he treated the other two (more like henchmen or even prisoners considering its implied that boogie was definitely not the greatest caretaker for them.) Does anyone realise the ark that could bring forth for barrel? The guilt after boogie died that he actually grieves him? The fact that he knows that Oogie treated his closest friends worse than he treated him and it's eating him alive the older he grows? Does anyone realise the potential in aus for that? The potential in stories for that? Along with so many other small plot points, Barrel has so much potential as a character!

I'm so tired of every day I look at tnbc creators and even specifically LSB creators overlooking him. A quite popular lsb creator who I will not name (this is no shade towards them, this is just an example) only has one comic that is only about barrel to my knowledge. Every other comic is all three, just lock, just shock, or lock and shock, and lock and barrel, but none of just Barrel other than the one. Other creators I see overlook him, even some close friends of mine tend to overlook him in favor of the other two. Again, not angry. Just a little saddening that my favorite guy who has so much potential is overlooked so often and/or treated like a background character only there to further lock, shock, or both of their story.

This is once again no shade towards anyone. I am a lockxshock lover too (they'd annoy eachother so bad), and I am also not hating on those on have favorite characters or overlook the trio as a whole! I am not hating on anyone! I am simply expressing wishing of more people appreciating a good character with good potential. This is such a fandom non-issue, but I wish more people loved him. Love all my tnbc creators, thank you for making art and stories ❤️
