It's 21:18 London time. The air hostess has just announced that cabin crew need to prepare for landing, which means I am currently in to my 9th (maybe 10th) hour of being on a stuffy aeroplane on my way to Las Vegas for a family holiday (a whole week of hitting the shops all over LV questioning whether you're about to go a week alcohol free because according to America, 19 is too young to drink - thrilling, I know!)
I thought this was the perfect time to start writing as this is an adventurous and exciting time that I feel would be good to write down my thoughts and maybe get them out my head. The last time I went to Vegas was with my mum for a wedding when I was 14, I was A LOT skinnier but also a lot younger.
Firstly, I'm one of those people that eats everything in sight and then feels guilty for the next 4 hours, so the fact that I have been on a hot sweaty plane for the past 10 hours, consuming all the unhealthy plane food that they have supplied, including lemon cake, Jaffa cake, fruit cake..ok we get it cake is easy...as well as not having moved from my seat (not even for the toilet which is slightly weird) does not make me feel great, but, what can you do. Tomorrow is a new day. Or so I tell myself. I've tried the 5:2 diet and yes it's okay but 500 calories a day is slightly unrealistic, which was also especially difficult for me during the summer as I was at home all day surrounded by food which I also think did not help me with any weight loss this summer. Don't get me wrong, I haven't dieted for this holiday at all, I have literally eaten everything. I think it's been one of those years but this means I can't go overboard on holiday as it will make me feel horrific. My first year at uni saw me start to eat carbs which I hadn't been doing that much for the 2 years before uni, so, although I don't eat horrifically I feel my body wasn't used to having me eat pasta at least once a week after not having eaten it for 2 years, leading me to the conclusion that whilst the average girl will put on two pounds from eating a gigantic cheeseburger, I will put on about five. Shit, I know. But such is life. Hopefully food isn't going to be a big issue for me on this trip, as the food in LV is so good so I don't want to ruin it for my self by feeling guilty (even though I don't exactly deserve to indulge on cake) but I will aim to exercise at least 3 times this week using home workouts, nothin' wrong with that!
