But let’s just assume this is in fact what you believe in for yourself, and you save the bus ‘full of innocent lives’. And later it turns out your loved one, who you sacrificied with a heavy heart, would have found the cure for cancer - saving the lifes of millions. Of course, this is all hypothetical, but we never know, do we? But I know for sure my husband is close to cure the HIV-virus.”

Gillian took a deep drag of her poison, the smoke danced around her presence and concealed her true face.

Does a human being exist who does not hate? Even the most peaceful, tolerating and accepting people have something they feel a deep hatred for or simply percieve a certain thing as aggravating. They might not admit his, they might not be aware of this, but this is simply a part of our nature.

I hate mondays, I hate it when people pour ketchup on their fries instead of placing it on the side, I hate the smell of lavender. I hate it when I get up in the morning and I have to realize there is no Earl Grey left. I hate it when I can’t beat a level in a video game on the first try. So yes, of course there are many things I hate.

Failure. Loss of control. That all of this was for nothing. That in the end the all I see before I die is this disgusting face of Lucius or Beth, that they are triumphant and not us. I have sworn to myself that this day would never come, that I will kick the crown from the head of the unworthy and make them pay for what they have done to me, to us. To eradicate this nauseous smirk from their faces forever.
